Honkai: Star Rail twins cover

Time Played: Since release on April 26, 2023

Age Rating: 12+

Infrequent/Mild Cartoon or Fantasy Violence
Infrequent/Mild Sexual Content and Nudity

Story Progression: 7/10

I felt the story was complex and pacing was decent. However, it could still be followed and understood easily even if skipped past. The voice acting is pretty good, with a variety to choose from in English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Thai, Indonesian and Vietnamese. At times the dialogue may feel dragged out and get a little boring to listen to, however every now and then the dynamic action scenes makes up for the lack of energy. The length of each quest takes anywhere as short as 30 minutes to on average 1-1.5 hours. It's a good way to past time and when combining event and side missions, sometimes it may take a few hours.

Difficulty: 5/10

The game is turn-based rpg, with a basic attack, skill, talent, ultimate as well as passive abilities. The tutorial, tips and guides in the game are very straightforward and friendly for players who might not usually play this style. There is a team of four you can build with different classes and element types, Imaginary, Wind, Fire, Quantum, Ice, Physical, Lightning. Some are better for being a main or sub DPS, others are suited towards AOE or support. It is very experimental and includes leveling up the character, their skill tree, using equipment and testing what builds work.

Immortality Ends Mission

Overall Review

I enjoy the game immensely. I've reached equilbrium 6, rank 65, level 80, or in other words the max level and one of the highest world difficulties. I'll admit I had to take a break from the game here and there as I would get burnt out. It did take lots of farming and researching guides to reach the point I am at. For any interested in playing I would definitely recommend to try not to rush through anything too fast or fall behind in leveling your team as the game gets harder. It is an open-world rpg game, with similar exploration to games such as Zelda or Genshin, which may not be everyone's cup of tea. However, I found it to be one of my favorite games.
